Unemployment insurance (UI) benefits provide temporary financial assistance to workers unemployed through no fault of their own who meet Your State eligibility requirements.
General Unemployment Requirements
To be entitled to benefits, you must be out of work due to no fault of your own. You must be physically able to work. You must be actively seeking work. You must be ready to accept work. It is important to understand the qualification guidelines and necessary actions around each of these requirements.
Your State Residents that are currently unemployed or working part-time can apply for UI benefits (you cannot apply for unemployment insurance if you are still currently employed). Self-employment does not usually qualify for UI benefits coverage.
